This Italianate villa, crafted by architect George Champlin Mason Sr. in 1860-61, remains meticulously preserved, mirroring its state during its last occupation by a descendant of one of the most historically significant American families. Once the residence of Alletta Morris McBean, the estate showcases an array of furniture, artworks, and decorative pieces amassed by the Morris family, whose American lineage traces back to the mid-1600s. Owned by the Preservation Society of Newport County, Chepstow was uniquely opened to the public in April 2012 for the Neighborhoods of Newport House Tour.
